1. iRobot s8
This smart robot mop and vacuum is a fantastic option for households with a variety of. While the Anker-owned Eufy has made a name for itself in low-cost robot vacuums it's not yet an all-in-one model which can also mop. That changes with the X8 Hybrid, which has an impressive suite of advanced features and is able to compete with more expensive models.
The most significant selling point for Eufy with this device is its laser navigation. Previous Eufy devices have created a rough map of your home using infrared sensors and bumping into things but the X8's laser mapping system is much more accurate. It also takes significantly less time to create an accurate picture of your space and stores multiple maps, which is great for multi-floor homes.
The X8 is a great vacuum cleaner for floors that are clean. It can easily sling debris through the side brushes and into its 400ml dust bin. The tyres are adept at hugging corners and edges despite being circular. Our tests revealed that it could only remove 90% of the fur on hard floors.
There's a basic mopping option that uses the same water tank as the vacuuming one. This is ideal for spills that aren't too serious, but you cannot regulate the amount of water it uses. It does, however, do an excellent job of removing pet hair, and has a higher speed of pickup than the Roborock S7.
3. Miele RX2
Miele's RX2 robotic vacuum is known for its quiet, efficient appliances. It features a stunning design, excellent navigation, and excellent cleaning power. But it has a few operational oddities which prevent it from being considered as the best overall smart robot vacuum.
Like the latest models from iRobot like the RX2 has a dual-sensor mapping system that utilizes the LIDAR sensor to map out an area and a pair of 3D scanning cameras to detect and avoid obstacles (like furniture legs or pet waste) in real-time. After the room has been defined it is possible to assign virtual no go areas and preferred sections to the robot. You can also begin cleaning manually or change the cleaning mode, view live feeds from the onboard cameras and more on the main screen.
The RX2 has superior sensors that can identify furniture and other obstructions in a flash. This budget robovac that looks just like the other, but comes with some extra features and a better performance. Its intelligent mapping system creates 2D and 3D maps of your home and uses those to navigate and avoid obstacles. In our tests, it effortlessly could climb over the thick shag rugs and didn't get stuck on them (like the RoboVac 11s or Roomba 690). Its navigational skills were impressive as well and its overall score on carpet and bare floors beat out the competition and it took in 98.5 percent of surface pet hair and litter from our laboratory test samples.
The controls are more basic than competitors. There's a round cleaning button on the top and you can access it via the app or via voice command with Alexa or Google Assistant. You can also set up a schedule for weekly or daily cleans, create areas that are not allowed to be cleaned, and check the history of its cleaning. Clad in smart dark gray plastics, Ion feels sturdy and looks stylish in your home. Its rear dustbin is easily accessible for emptying, and taking out the filters is also a breeze.
5. Eufy 11S
If you're looking for a basic low-cost robot vacuum at a low cost, the Eufy 11S might be your best bet. It lacks some of the advanced features, like digital mapping and Alexa integration, which are found in more expensive models, but if you're not looking for these functions, you can save money with this model.
