The Best Self Emptying Robot Vacuum
The best robot vacuums that self-empty have a base which holds the equivalent of a month's worth of debris and then empty it automatically. It also makes a detailed map of your home, allowing you to label rooms and create "no-go" zones.
It has superior obstacle-avoiding capabilities, and it will keep out of power cords and rogue socks.
Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
This robot is among the best models offered by iRobot and certainly performs well. It maneuvers easily across a variety of surfaces and is highly efficient at taking in dust, dirt, and debris. It's also well-built and looks stunning too.
The S9 is the latest model in iRobot's premium S Series line of robot vacuums. As the name suggests, it has several additional features that distinguish it from other models. For instance the iRobot app makes use of the camera on this unit to create a map of your house which allows it to in cleaning and navigation.
There's no need to spend time cleaning the same spots over and over again when the battery is exhausted. You can manually start and stop cleaning with an audio command, or by using the iRobot App. This smart vacuum is able to clean in darkness!
Carpet Boost is another great feature. It provides the S9 more suction power when it comes in contact with carpeting, meaning it will be able to pick up more dirt. It also features the square front design, which is closer to walls and corners as opposed to the earlier round designs. But, be aware that this model doesn't do well with high-pile or shag carpeting.
During our testing during our testing, we discovered that the iRobot S9+ cleans thoroughly and efficiently on a variety of flooring surfaces, ranging from medium-pile to hard carpets and rugs. It also worked well with laminate flooring, and vinyl flooring. It also did a great job of maneuvering between furniture and objects, although it did struggle with stairs, where it can crash into objects like bookcases.
We liked the fact that the S9 automatically returns to its base to empty its trash bin when it's empty, which dramatically minimizes the need to be hands-on with maintenance. The dust bag is expected to last for around 30 loads or a month and half. It's recommended to replace the filter every few months (as recommended by iRobot). In our experience, the iRobot S9+ doesn't get very loud during operation, so it's a good choice for those who live with kids or pets.

Robot vacuum cleaners are created to do the work for you and can be used to clean hardwood and carpeted flooring. The dustbin can be taken away and emptied with ease which is beneficial because you'll need to clean it often.
It's also easy to set it up, although I recommend fully charging the X8 Hybrid prior to running it for the first time. Install the Eufy Home application and follow the instructions to connect it to your WiFi network. Once you've done that the app will assist you create a precise map of your home. Rooms can be named or divide rooms into sub-rooms (good for open plan living) and direct the X8 Hybrid to specific areas that require cleaning at a specific time. Eufy's application is more user-friendly and precise than other robots that have similar scanning and mapping functions.
A great feature on the X8 Hybrid is that you can activate the mop or vacuum using your voice thanks to integration with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. This is a nice addition that makes the robot even more hands-free. It also is very effective in our test home.
The X8 Hybrid, like many robotic vacuums has some problems with floors that are not fully covered. It is prone to miss pet hair and small objects, and is more likely to hit things, like its own charger that sits on its base of its charging. It's not as quiet as some other models we've tested, and the whirring noise could be distracting.
Roborock V3S Pro
This model doesn't have as many features as the more expensive ones we tested, however it does provide the essentials. It has a large dust bin which can hold a lot of dirt before it needs to be empty. The vacuum and mop system is great for carpets and hard floors with a low pile. It's also quiet. We were able to watch TV while it cleaned without feeling like we were overwhelmed by the sound.
Our test participants were extremely pleased by how easy the machine was to operate and set up. They also appreciated the ability to clean all the mess from their floors. It did a good job picking up pet hair, messes, and carpeting, but it was more difficult in eliminating stubborn stains. The users found the app to be user-friendly and intuitive, and they were able to schedule the vacuum to clean on a regular basis to reduce the amount they had to do manually. The only drawback is that it doesn't have any mapping technology or object avoidance, so you aren't able to send it to specific rooms or follow virtual boundaries (though magnetic boundary strips can be used).
The V3S Pro is another model in iRobot’s affordable line. It offers several impressive features for a reasonable price. It was the most efficient robot vacuum in our tests for mapping and avoiding obstacles. It's also the best budget option for those seeking a smarter, self-emptying robotic vacuum that can take care of hair and pet messes on hardwood floors or low-pile carpeting. It's also very quiet and has a large dust bin that can hold lots of debris before it's time to empty it, so you don't have to be concerned about having to empty it every time you use it.
The V3S Pro did not make it onto our top choice lists from trusted sources who perform hands-on tests, but it received high marks from Modern Castle, Smart Robot Reviews and The Ambient. They liked the ease of set up and use, however they did note that the battery life was very short and it was unable to avoid some of the toughest problems we've encountered.
Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is an entry-level robot vacuum and mop that offers a lot of features for a low cost. You can enjoy many of the high-end features, including smart navigation and mapping without paying top dollar. You can also make use of voice commands via Alexa, Google Assistant, or Apple Siri shortcuts to create custom automations and begin your cleaning cycle remotely while you're away.
Roborock has spent time in the development of this clever cleaner. This is why the product is extremely well-built and feels like it was constructed from premium materials. Its base is stable and sturdy, with the charging port built into the battery. On the top, you'll find a dock for the clean read more water tank as well as water bins that are dirty. Under them, you'll discover an area that houses the vacuum bag that is sealed.
When you connect your device with the app, you'll be able to see the map in 3D or 2D of your home that shows the exact location where your robot is situated and the area it's cleaning. You can also build virtual barriers to keep your robot from certain areas or clean only certain kinds of flooring. It's also capable of adjusting its power settings depending on the kind of floor being cleaned, as well as choosing the most efficient method of cleaning.
In contrast to other robot vacuums that are available, the Q Revo is able to lift up both of its mop heads while vacuuming to prevent staining your carpet fibres. In fact, it's one of the only vacuums on the market that can do this.
When it comes to mopping, the Q Revo's 5500Pa suction powers are sufficient to remove specks of dust and pet hair strands, and other debris. The all-rubber brush is able to disentangle human and animal hair as it adapts to uneven surfaces.
The only issue with this device is that it takes a long time to empty and fill both the clean and dirty tanks. You can decrease the frequency of this by using the auto-empty function which will empty the bin on its own after a few days. There is no automatic reminder to examine the level of water in the dock.
